About

Leading a Finance team, raising growth capital, acquiring companies and navigating through successful exits is no joke, but having a sense of humour is definitely an asset.

With raising over $300 million from over 20 world class venture capital firms and being on the management teams of successful exits totalling over $1.6 billion, David has literally “been there, done that” and got the t-shirts (a lot) and hoodies, to prove it!  Beyond the financial metrics that can be easily measured, it is the incredible people and experiences that has made David’s journey truly valuable.  Whether it was deferring his salary for three months waiting for a funding round to close, staying up all night in a Vegas casino bar “pivoting” the company strategy, changing a pitch deck in a coffee shop moments before the meeting, or celebrating an exit by driving an open wheel race car on a professional track, it was the first-class people that came together, working as a team to solve a problem, challenge the norm and change the world that made the journey spectacular.

David understands that while winning is fun, success only occurs after many struggles, rejections, bad days and hearing the word “no” over and over again, and that perseverance is an amazing quality most successful founders/CEO’s, and their teams, possess.  Despite all his successes, David has heard the word “no” more times than he can count (and that is excluding high school dating!) but that is where the learning occurred.  Pain is a great teacher, just ask any child who touched a hot stove despite their parents warning.

David is now focused on using his experience in helping Finance professionals and CFO’s avoid the hot stoves and focus on building great finance teams to help founders and CEO’s grow meaningful businesses that make a difference.  Let’s connect if you think David can help you and your organization grow and change the world.
